About Women of Color on the Move (WOCOTM) WOCOTM is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and families through advocacy, education, leadership development, and community engagement. We focus on promoting social justice, equity, and mental health awareness in underserved communities across the world.

Position Overview The Volunteer Web Designer & Copywriter will play a key role in strengthening WOCOTM’s online presence through impactful web design and compelling written content. This creative professional will ensure that WOCOTM’s website is visually appealing, user‑friendly, and filled with engaging content that reflects our mission, programs, and global impact.

Key Responsibilities Web Design Duties

Design, update, and maintain the WOCOTM website to ensure a clean, modern, and accessible layout.

Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate visuals, graphics, and multimedia elements that enhance user experience.

Ensure all pages are mobile‑responsive and optimized for performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues as needed.

Incorporate SEO best practices to increase visibility and engagement.

Copywriting Duties

Write and edit clear, inspiring, and mission‑driven web copy for pages such as “About Us,” “Programs,” “Events,” and “Get Involved.”

Develop compelling calls‑to‑action that encourage volunteering, donations, and event participation.

Craft blog posts, news updates, and success stories highlighting WOCOTM’s global initiatives.

Ensure consistent tone, style, and messaging across all web content.

Collaborate with leadership to translate organizational goals into engaging narratives that connect with target audiences.

Able to use A1 tools.

Must know Microsoft 365 and WordPress.

Qualifications

Experience in web design (WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace preferred).

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.

Understanding of SEO, website layout, and user experience principles.

Proficiency in basic HTML/CSS is a plus.

Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe XD, or Figma.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Passion for WOCOTM’s mission and women’s empowerment.

Preferred Skills

Background in marketing, communications, digital media, or nonprofit work.

Experience designing for accessibility and inclusivity.

Strong organizational and creative problem‑solving skills.
