Job Title: Senior Designer

Salary: Up to $130k (Dependant on Experience)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah (Relocation packages available for U.S eligible workers)

Novax are pleased to have partnered with a leading specialist contractor who due to their continued market success are looking to bring in a senior level designer to their team.

Overview

• Responsible for the design and detailing of building enclosures, fenestration systems, and other interior and exterior architectural components.
• Typical systems include unitized curtain walls, entrances, and partitions.
• Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce accurate, code-compliant drawings that meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Contributing to the development of design processes and technical standards. Works under the general direction of an engineering or technical manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce complex designs for assemblies, systems, and components using CAD software.
• Develop system and die designs required for project execution.
• Create shop drawings, including embed, plan, elevation, and detail drawings, based on architectural and structural documentation.
• Generate BIM data as needed to support project coordination.
• Ensure compliance with internal processes, industry practices, and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
• Minimal travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the design of facades and curtain wall.
• At least 3+ years of direct experience with unitized curtain wall design.
• Ability to interpret and apply architectural and construction specifications.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of structural behavior and thermal performance of materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
