Job Title: Tech Lead Audio/Video Porting Application
Location: Auburn Hills, MI (5 days a week, onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description:
- Porting audio and video streaming applications in Web and Android head units (e.g., Audible, Amazon Music, Spotify, Disney, and custom apps). This includes both in-vehicle and web-based implementations.
 - Defining and building strong client- and server-side architecture.
 - DRM 2.0/3.0 and related compliance.
 - Client distribution and support across APKs and browser media plug-ins.
 - Version management aligned with vehicle architectures.
 - Understand automotive safety concerns.
 - Optimization of vehicle-to-backend communication, network configuration, data handling, and caching.
 - Optimization of head-unit performance, latency, and responsiveness.
 - Deep expertise in client- or server-side media/streaming architectures (ideally both).
 
Good to Have:
- Exposure to HMI/UX integration, advanced DSP algorithms, or AI-enhanced media playback.
 - Certifications in automotive standards (AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE, etc.).
 - Experience with OTA updates, automotive cybersecurity, or cloud-based A/V streaming.
 - Prior work with international cross‑functional teams.
 
Job Responsibilities:
- Port audio and video streaming applications in Web and Android head units (e.g., Audible, Amazon Music, Spotify, Disney, and custom apps).
 - Support both in-vehicle and web-based implementations depending on partnership scope.
 - Act as technical lead and SME to define and implement strong client- and server-side architecture.
 - Address DRM 2.0/3.0 requirements and related compliance.
 - Manage partner streaming client distribution and support across APKs and browser media plug-ins.
 - Handle working-level version management aligned with vehicle architectures.
 - Ensure automotive safety concerns are addressed either by partners or internal teams.
 - Optimize vehicle-to-backend communication, network configuration, data handling, and caching.
 - Explore and implement integrations with existing subscription services.
 - Monitor and improve head-unit performance, latency, and responsiveness.
 - Provide hands‑on technical leadership with deep expertise in client- or server-side media/streaming architectures (ideally both).
