Job Summary

Augusta University’s Department of Communication is hiring an Assistant Professor in Integrated Strategic Communication. This tenure‑track position is anticipated to begin August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in communication, mass communication, communication studies, media studies, or a closely related discipline and will teach courses in Health Communication, Campaigns, Social Media, and COMM 1110. The role requires the maintenance of a robust record of research, service to the department, college and university, and collaboration with colleagues and students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in Health Communication, Campaigns, Social Media, and COMM 1110
  • Maintain a robust record of research
  • Conduct peer‑reviewed research
  • Provide service for the department, college, and university

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in communication, mass communication, communication studies, media studies, or a closely related discipline
  • Assistant Professor – early level career faculty member
  • Evidence of teaching ability
  • Evidence of scholarly activity
  • Compliance with SACSCOC accreditation requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to teach media analytics
  • Expertise in research methods

Shift/Salary/Benefits
