Job Description
Jacksonville University, ranked as a Best Regional University by US News & World Report, invites applicants for a for an adjunct position in the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders is housed within the School of Applied Health Sciences in the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences. The program is home to 70 master’s students and 30 undergraduate students. With eight full-time faculty, the department has a strong reputation for innovative teaching practice utilizing simulated clinical experiences with manikins and patient actors. The program has clinical affiliations for student placement with over one hundred off-campus sites in the greater Jacksonville community.

Duties/Responsibilities
Develop and teach courses in the area of communication sciences and disorders at the graduate and undergraduate level
Required Skills/Abilities
- Instruct, professionally communicate, and demonstrate nursing skills techniques to communication sciences and disorders students.
- Self-directed, have computer proficiency that includes the knowledge necessary to develop case scenarios and simulations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of effective teaching techniques and curriculum development.
- Skill in facilitating development of student problem solving skills.
- Ability to design effective learning activities for students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience:
- Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Master’s level may be considered with prior teaching and clinical experience.
- Speech Language Pathology certification considered highly desirable
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
- Near vision sufficient to read written communications, computer display screens.
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
