The individual will initiate, assess, and produce written and visual content for Saint Louis University’s official social media accounts, slu.edu, and internal communications channels; report on key growth and metrics; monitor social media sentiment around the SLU brand; assist in crisis monitoring and response; and serve as a consultant to distributed social media managers for campus units representing the SLU brand.The ideal candidate combines depth of expertise in digital media with exceptional writing and editing skills, attention to detail, innate curiosity and passion for storytelling. They inspire trust, balance multiple priorities with ease, and thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment rooted in Jesuit values.**Key Responsibilities*** Audit and refine the University’s comprehensive social media strategy.* Produce and monitor written and visual digital content (earned, owned, paid) for Saint Louis University’s official social media accounts.* Work with content contributors throughout campus to cultivate content for earned, owned and paid social media presence for the University and campus units.* Work with team members to monitor the performance of SLU’s social media accounts through analytics and other bench-marking data.* Assist in crisis response and monitoring; gauge and report on sentiment on social media channels; and represent SLU in official social media responses/customer service.* Work with team members to market and communicate about SLU across communications channels, including slu.edu and internal platforms.* Manage the student social media team, ensuring consistent, creative, and mission-aligned digital content.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Strong writing and editing stills and experience with content planning and strategy development* Understanding of how to leverage existing and emerging social media platforms (i.e. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, ) and monitoring/scheduling services (Hootsuite, Sprout, Loomly).* Graphic design for social media* Basic photography and videography skills* Knowledge of Adobe Suite/Canva* Ability to work within a content management system* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills* Ability to recognize trends in social media communications and marketing* Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail**Qualifications****Required*** Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.* Three (3) or more years of experience in journalism, communications, and/or public relations* Experience with content planning and strategy development**Preferred*** Experience in higher education marketing or advancement communications and/or with a communications agency or complex organization.* Knowledge of enrollment marketing, reputation-building, thought leadership, issue monitoring, and stakeholder engagement in a university setting.* 5+ years of experience in managing digital media and/or strategic communications.**Work Schedule Expectations:**This position will require the individualtowork in the office, with the potential to work a hybrid schedule upon completion of six months of onsite training and familiarizationwith department work and operations in compliance with the requirements of the SLURemoteStaff Flexible Work Policy.**Function**CommunicationsScheduled Weekly Hours:40Saint Louis University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
