Library Faculty Position

Jacksonville State University’s Houston Cole Library invites applications for a tenure‑track position for Assistant Professor - Special Collections and Reference Librarian.

Primary responsibilities include: evaluation of library resources; planning and implementation of library services addressing the information needs of departmental subjects and the university community; providing reference and research assistance in these subject areas and special collections; and soliciting and promoting special collections.

This nine‑month, tenure‑track position offers an annual salary of $50,000.00 with an anticipated start date of January 5 2024.

Required qualifications: Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program. Preferred qualifications: advanced degree or other post‑graduate education in subject specialty or related fields, and prior experience in reference service and patron instruction.
