Job Overview

Arlington Public Schools is seeking a 0.2 preschool music teacher. The role involves motivating and engaging students in a safe, student-centered environment and planning and delivering developmentally appropriate, standards-based weekly music lessons using the Feierabend First Steps in Music early childhood method and supplemental resources.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and engage preschool students in music‑making activities.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess standards‑based weekly music lessons.
  • Use the Feierabend First Steps in Music early childhood method to develop "Tuneful, Beatful, and Artful" qualities in all students.
  • Maintain a supportive, inclusive and safe learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong pedagogical, musical, and vocal skills.
  • Dynamic and talented music educator with experience in early childhood music education.
  • Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons.

Salary and Benefits

Salary and benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association. Salary placement is based on education and experience.
