Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Publishing

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work with the Director, Marketing to execute all messaging in support of Direct Market titles across all digital and print mediums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with press release writing and asset coordination for Direct Market communications, working across Marketing, Sales, Publishing Editorial, Talent Management, Legal, Social and Digital Marketing teams.
  • Collaborating on the creative & messaging efforts for Digital and Print advertising materials.
  • Planning and placement of weekly Marvel Comics print ads in coordination with Operations and Production teams.
  • Assisting with Marvel Social Media activations for Publishing, including the build-out of social media assets while liaising between Marketing, Sales, Publishing Editorial and Digital Marketing teams.
  • Supporting the production of short form video content for online and in‑person event use.
  • Scheduling meetings and managing agendas, reports/recaps, and actionable next steps.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and shift gears at a moment’s notice.
  • Strong creative instincts and experience, with the ability to distill stakeholder comments into actionable creative feedback that delivers on marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a strong grasp of grammar, tone, and clarity.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with leaders and peers on an ongoing basis, representing Marketing & Integrated Planning in business decisions.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and a role model for internal partnerships and external relationship building.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Self‑motivated, confident, energetic, and not afraid to take risks or ask questions.
  • Highly responsive and able to follow up on projects and communications in a timely manner.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Keynote, PowerPoint, Airtable, and Jira.
  • This role is in‑office based in New York, NY and requires availability to work onsite 4 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicants should have 1 year of communications experience; social media, publishing, consumer products, TV network, film studio, podcast, or agency experience is a plus.
  • Current and classic knowledge of Marvel Comics titles and characters, and familiarity with the comics industry, particularly key talent (writers and artists).
  • Skill in Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign is preferred but not required.

Materials Required for Consideration

  • Submit a PDF or link to relevant writing samples (e.g., press releases, articles, interviews). Preferably, samples should showcase press releases, articles, interviews, etc.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $62,400 to $83,600 per year based on a 40‑hour work week. The base pay will reflect internal equity and may vary with geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
