Senior Manager, SEO
We are seeking a visionary Senior Manager, SEO/AEO/LLM to lead our organic search strategy into the next era. This role is not a traditional SEO; it requires a leader who understands that the future of search extends far beyond keywords and embraces user experience, generative AI, answer engine optimization, and large language models. The incumbent will define a "Search Everywhere" strategy to position Simply Business as the answer for small business insurance needs, increasing organic traffic and driving high-value, high-converting users.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Leadership: Develop the framework and strategy for SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (GEO), and Large Language Models (LLM) in alignment with our business and product goals.
- Execution: Create and drive the SEO/AEO/LLM roadmap, managing prioritization, execution, and optimization of performance‑oriented initiatives, and produce original, authoritative content at scale.
- Data‑Driven Execution: Conduct technical and content audits, analyze audience discovery and consumption across platforms, build roadmaps, and forecast impact through structured testing and experimentation.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Paid Media, Content, Operations, Product, and Engineering to translate strategy into action, establishing EEAT practices and technical enhancements such as structured data.
- Product Partnership & Discoverability: Work with product teams on strategic initiatives that improve discoverability, including new programmatic pages, content hubs, off‑site mentions, widgets, and quizzes.
- Ecosystem & Tools: Continuously assess and review our ecosystem and tools to ensure we remain cutting‑edge and efficient.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay ahead of the curve by researching and applying new AI search methodologies and setting best practices for internal teams and clients.
- Expert Consultation: Serve as the primary point of contact for all SEO, GEO, and LLM–related client questions, providing expert guidance, reporting, and thought leadership.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 10‑15+ years in SEO with a proven track record of large‑scale organic search strategies.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of modern web technologies and how search and AI bots crawl, index, and rank sites. Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Schema Markup.
- AI & LLM Expertise: Experience with generative AI and LLMs, including strategy development for optimizing content and experiences for new engines.
- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative abilities and proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
- Communication & Influence: Exceptional communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and leadership.
- Leadership: Senior leadership experience, proven ability to communicate strategy to diverse leaders, manage agency and vendor relationships, mentor teams, and collaborate across business units.
