Job Title: .NET Web Developer III

Location: Madison, WI

We are looking for only W2 candidates who can work on our Payroll.

Position Overview

We are seeking a .NET Web Developer III to work full‑time on the design, development, testing, and maintenance of web‑based applications built in the Microsoft .NET environment. The role involves both new development and support of existing systems. You’ll collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and business users to deliver secure, high‑quality, and maintainable software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, implement, and maintain .NET‑based web applications.
  • Support and enhance existing systems as assigned by project priorities.
  • Work closely with team members to understand requirements and design effective solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established coding standards and security best practices.
  • Develop and manage integrations with other systems and services.
  • Perform unit and integration testing, document test results, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Use Azure DevOps for source control, task tracking, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
  • Deploy web applications, APIs, batch jobs, and reports.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including code comments and project documentation.
  • Participate in Agile or Scrum meetings and provide updates on progress.
  • Write and maintain Oracle database components, including stored procedures and SQL scripts.
  • Follow the software development life cycle (SDLC) and adhere to IT and security best practices.
  • Stay current with new technologies and continuously improve application performance and reliability.
  • Maintain excellent communication with teammates and business partners to ensure project goals are met.
  • Provide reliable, responsive support for applications and resolve technical issues as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Microsoft .NET development (C#, VB.NET, MVC).
  • Experience developing web APIs and Angular applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle databases, writing stored procedures, and SQL queries.
  • Proven experience applying object‑oriented design and security standards.
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio and Azure DevOps (repositories, version control, builds, and deployments).
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues through research, debugging, and testing.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain technical issues to non‑technical users.
  • Strong documentation, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of accessibility and how to build compliant web applications.

Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have) Skills

  • Experience working in government or public‑sector environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 tools such as SharePoint, Teams, Word, and Excel.

Work Location and Schedule

  • This is a hybrid position (part remote, part in‑office each week).
  • Work must be performed within the United States and within the state where the office is based.
  • The position requires 40 hours per week during standard business hours (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.).
  • Initial onboarding and orientation will be completed on‑site.
  • Reliable high‑speed internet is required for remote work.
  • Occasional after‑hours work may be needed for deployments.

Other Requirements

  • Must follow agency technology and security policies.
  • Must enter timesheets and provide regular status reports as required.
  • Must return any assigned equipment at the end of the contract.
  • U.S.-based work only; no work can be performed outside the country.
