Senior Design Liaison City of New York, Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings. Hours: Full‑Time – 35 Hours per week. Work Location: 30‑30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101. Responsibilities: Ensure design importance throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and initiation (including RfQ/Rfp development and consultant selection) to design, construction, and close‑out. Support consensus building among stakeholders, communicating how quality design solves problems related to approvals, budgets, and schedules. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Team Leaders, consultants, and sponsor agencies to develop responsive designs that meet or exceed the mission and values of Design + Construction Excellence. Support the procurement of professional services and serve as the single point of contact with the Public Design Commission, managing the monthly submissions process. Prepare publications, presentations, and reports, and organize events that highlight and advance Design + Construction Excellence (e.g., Peer Reviews, Consultant Engagement, Design Value evaluations). Minimum Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in architecture from an accredited college or university. Two (2) years of full‑time experience in planning, design, research, investigations, or studies related to urban design development programs. Graduated with an advanced degree in architecture, urban design, or city planning may substitute experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Authorization to work in the United States is required; the City does not sponsor visas. Preferred Skills: Outstanding organizational, time‑management, and multi‑tasking skills; ability to take initiative and work independently. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook/Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop preferred. Experience within the design industry with a focus on public spaces. Salary: $86,749.00 – $106,912.00.
