Position: Digital SEO Manager
As the Digital SEO Manager, you will take charge of crafting and implementing a strategic organic search approach that enhances visibility and drives high-quality traffic. This role involves leading SEO projects, tracking performance metrics, and working closely with diverse teams such as Content, Digital Experience, Product, Analytics, and Engineering to ensure top-notch technical and content optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies that foster growth in the SEO channel, collaborating with both internal and external partners to drive cultural adoption of SEO practices throughout Staples.
- Promote an SEO-focused mindset by effectively communicating strategies and best practices for Staples.com and StaplesAdvantage.com.
- Collaborate with agencies and internal teams to enhance content and identify any gaps in existing resources.
- Guide the execution of SEO-related initiatives by coordinating closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure SEO considerations are effectively integrated into major tech projects.
- Mentor and manage a small team of SEO analysts, fostering their professional growth.
- Establish and enforce SEO guidelines that inform planning and development across all internal departments.
- Conduct competitive analysis to unearth improvement opportunities within our SEO strategy.
- Communicate directly with stakeholders across various levels to convey SEO performance and strategies effectively.
- Perform in-depth keyword research and manage search indexing to bolster SEO traffic and SERP rankings.
- Assess the implications of changes across the digital landscape, providing actionable insights based on performance data.
- Partner with site experience teams to ensure core web vitals are met, enhancing the discoverability for high intent search users.
- Collaborate with various teams, including Paid Search, to track search trends and analyze performance metrics on a weekly and yearly basis.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in SEO or similar digital marketing roles.
- 3+ years in a leadership or project ownership position, demonstrating success in managing enterprise-level SEO initiatives.
- Expertise in SEO tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, and others.
- Strong understanding of web technologies relevant to SEO, including HTML and JavaScript.
- Experience in conducting technical audits and resolving complex SEO challenges.
- Proficiency with analytics platforms like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
- Excellent communication skills to address both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in eCommerce or retail environments.
- Familiarity with content management systems like Adobe Experience Manager or WordPress.
- Knowledge of structured data implementation and schema markup.
- Relevant certifications in Google Analytics or SEO tools.
