KUTV/KMYU/KJZZ in Salt Lake City has an exciting opportunity for a Full‑time Sports Multimedia Journalist/Anchor/Reporter.

KUTV 2News and Talkin’ Sports are Utah's leading source for sports, weather, and breaking news. The station is a CBS Television affiliate owned by Sinclair Broadcasting Group, one of the largest and most diversified broadcasting companies in the U.S.

We are an aggressive market leader in sports, producing nightly sports shows, several team‑related sports shows, and originating multiple live sports broadcasts. Our Talkin Sports format produces a half‑hour sports show every night following the 10 p.m. news, as well as an hour‑long edition of Talkin Sports each Sunday night. Sister stations KMYU and KJZZ broadcast live sporting events and specialize in programs that cover Utah and surrounding areas.

Additionally we deliver several “franchise” Talkin Sports programs, including Talkin’ Utah Jazz, Talkin’ Real Salt Lake, Talkin’ Hockey, Talkin’ Golf, and Talkin’ High School Football. We cover sports at all levels in Utah, from professional teams such as the Utah Jazz, Utah Royals, Real Salt Lake, and Utah Warriors, to college programs at the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and Utah State University. We also originate nearly 40 high school football and basketball games live each year, as well as Utah State football and basketball games, Utah Jazz basketball, Utah Royals soccer, Salt Lake Bees baseball, and Utah Warriors rugby—all carried on our broadcast stations and large digital/web following.

This job requires the ability to work at a fast pace with tight deadlines, along with balancing several projects at once. You will work for a station and a community where local sports matter on broadcast television as well as digital/on‑line. Day‑to‑day tasks include multimedia content creation, scriptwriting, and maintaining a strong social media presence to engage the audience. The role involves collaborating with the news team to ensure comprehensive sports coverage and may require working irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

Skills and Experience

• Extensive digital experience.
• A self‑starter who can generate his or her own story ideas daily.
• Ability to demonstrate enterprise reporting and creativity in storytelling.
• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain an active social media presence to build a brand and generate original story ideas.
• Proficiency in multimedia content creation.
• Excellent on‑air presence and delivery.
• Knowledge of social media and digital content strategy.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous MMJ, reporting, and anchoring experience is required.
• Must have at least two years of on‑air experience.
• Live reporting experience is required.
• Previous experience working in a team environment is a must.
• Ability to shoot stories, highlights, and interviews as needed.
