Incumbent is responsible for the oversight of all modes of public outreach including marketing, research, and development campaigns. The focus for this position will be for citywide initiatives with special emphasis on assisting revenue-generating enterprises.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Receives general supervision from the Manager of Public Engagement or higher-level management staff.
Typical Class Essential Duties
1. Provides dynamic communication and marketing assistance and support for public information and public engagement projects, initiatives, and events especially for revenue generating enterprises.
2. Develops reports and proposals to assist in decision-making regarding outreach programs and City initiatives.
3. Conducts audience/constituent research for targeting, measuring, and evaluating communication and marketing programs.
4. Coordinates citywide media efforts, news releases, press conferences, associated events, and public communications.
5. Establishes, develops, and maintains contact with authorized local, national, and international media, professional and civic organizations and other special interest groups to market and promote programs.
6. Coordinates assigned projects; identifies and reports progress to help keep the projects on track.
7. Develops clear, creative, and compelling content on the City's website, Facebook, and other social media outlets.
8. Applies Community-Based Social Marketing principles to outreach initiatives as applicable.
9. Monitors internet trends and e-marketing best practices to recommend for implementation.
10. Responds to media inquiries.
11. Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a closely related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as listed below.
LICENSING and CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
• Possession of a valid Wyoming Driver's License preferred.
