Overview
Designer role at Actalent. We are seeking a dedicated drafter to join our team, providing drafting expertise to ensure smooth operations as we transition with the upcoming retirement of a team member.
Responsibilities
- Spend 90% of the workday at a CAD station developing detail part and assembly drawings for mechanical equipment.
 - Interpret existing prints, locate and modify existing drawings, and release them for production.
 - Provide engineering support for the sales team.
 - Create installation drawings and specify individual components.
 - Occasionally travel to customer sites to take measurements once the position becomes permanent.
 - Perform filing and data entry of engineering documentation.
 
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (75% of time) and Inventor (25% of time).
 - Experience creating part drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.
 - Experience with steel fabrication drawings, particularly with thicknesses of 1/4 inch or more.
 - Ability to use a tape measure accurately to check part dimensions.
 - Detail-oriented and willing to assist wherever necessary.
 
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience with Inventor.
 - An Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent experience.
 - Experience working in a fabrication environment is beneficial.
 
Work Environment
You will work primarily at a desk in your own space, focusing on your tasks with minimal social interaction. The role requires the ability to work extra hours during the busy season from October to March and may involve 15% travel to customer sites for measurements. Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
