Overview

Freedom Reads is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and mission-driven ERP and supply chain specialist to support the fabrication and delivery of our Freedom Libraries. This role centers on optimizing material flow, production scheduling, and inventory accuracy through the use of ERP/MRP. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory data, coordinating procurement, monitoring material usage, and ensuring timely availability of components for production. The specialist will analyze supply chain performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend system-based solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce waste. This position works closely with the Library Production Shop Manager and Associates to ensure smooth operations, accurate reporting, and a safe, well-organized production manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the logistics of the entire production lifecycle of Freedom Libraries, from raw material to final assembly.
  • Set up and integrate our ERP system (currently ProShop ERP) to track raw material inventory and monitor production timelines, ensuring that all manufacturing and logistics processes are tracked and properly recorded.
  • Maintain accurate records of finished and delivered libraries.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both the ERP system and all data management within the libraries division.
  • Manage all aspects of book procurement to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries. Oversee the relationship with Ingram, our primary book distributor, and all our other publishing partners.
  • Lead division efforts in data visualization and analysis.
  • Transform large volumes of qualitative data, such as from surveys and interviews, into meaningful and actionable insights.
  • Maintain and update all division records within the Airtable database.
  • Collaborate with the team to leverage data for a better understanding of the impact of their work.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent educational experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in production, logistics, or inventory management.
  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems; direct experience with ProShop is a plus.
  • Experience with data management platforms, particularly Airtable.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform qualitative data into compelling visualizations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • This is a hybrid position requiring four in-office days and allowing for one remote work day per week.
  • Work is performed primarily in an indoor environment. May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels when reviewing inventory in the manufacturing space.
  • Travel to the office or Library Openings or events on a quarterly and as needed basis.
