Freelance Motion Designer, Performance Creative role at Orca Pacific: A Monks Company. Monks is looking to expand its creative service capabilities by hiring a Freelance Motion Designer until the end of January 2026. You will help build the creative offering for a top performance marketing agency, partnering with the media buying team and clients to develop creative that drives results. A fast, flexible go-getter with a sharp eye, adept skills, and the drive to deliver top-notch creative is sought.

About You

You’ll be responsible for animating paid media ads for digital channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Google, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) both net-new and from existing client materials. You’ll be somewhat of a motion generalist, at times jumping from animation into short-form video editing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers and producers to create ads driving performance results for client media programs
• Manage multiple motion-based projects with tight timelines
• Project manage yourself, fluidly jumping between multiple projects
• Own revision and resizing projects for large clients
• Conceptualize animated content optimized for paid media channels
• Understand or willingness to learn paid media channel best practices
• Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud, focusing on After Effects and Premiere Pro

• Effectively communicate animation concepts, ideas and limitations to both creative and non-creative teammates; articulate animation choices and defend decisions

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of technical experience with motion design and video editing, preferably at a performance-focused agency
• Portfolio is required
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in After Effects and Premiere
• Experience in paid media ad animation
• 4-year college degree (preferably in design) or equivalent work experience

Not a Must, But a Plus

• Experience with HTML5 ad animation
• Experience using Gen AI tools for ad builds and concepting
• Experience building versioning workflows or working with automated versioning tools
• Familiarity with Google suite
• B2C and B2B experience

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of an office location, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company’s then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.

Hourly Rate: $33—$38 USD. The rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, but not on sex or other protected status.
