Job Summary

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee‑owned company, seeks a High Powered Microwave (HPM) / Radio Frequency (RF) / Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineer to support the US Army at Redstone Arsenal. This position is based in Huntsville, AL and will work on HPM systems for the US Army.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide analysis of technical data from vendors and advise the Government as the sole HPM subject‑matter expert on‑site.
• Perform critical analysis of technical data packages including SRR/SFR/PDR/CDR presentations, HPM acceptance test planning/results, HPM lethality analysis, and HPM risk mitigation strategies.
• Recommend HPM system emplacement to maximize lethality while limiting impact on equipment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain approval to operate HPM system in CONUS and OCONUS.
• Conduct all‑source analyses to acquire required technical specifications.
• Provide engineering advice and assistance during research, development, and deployment stages.
• Formulate/estimate technical parameters from all‑source analyses.
• Support preparation of risk assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in HPM, RF, and/or EW.
• Experience evaluating, coordinating, and mitigating risks with HPM/RF/EW systems.
• US citizen with an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team including program management and technical/engineering personnel.
• Experience with the Directed Energy Weapon Initial Operational Employment Review and Approval Process (DEWRAP).
• Experience with sensors (EO/IR, radar, etc.) and non‑kinetic effectors (lasers, EW, etc.).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience developing detailed schedules and processes on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Understanding of system engineering processes.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Professional demeanor when working with senior Army leadership.
