College Writing Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)
Montana State University - Office of Student Engagement is seeking qualified individuals to join a pool of non-tenure-track instructors for writing courses. This is a pooled, part-time, non-tenure track appointment.

Position Details
General Statement: Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. Instructors are needed to teach classes depending upon need and available funding. Applications are accepted on a continual basis and will be maintained in pool for two years.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Typically, instructors teach WRIT 101: College Writing I, WRIT 201: College Writing II.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- A master’s degree in English or closely-related field.
- Successful experience teaching college composition.
- Demonstrated experience working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Degree focus in rhetoric, professional writing, and/or writing pedagogy.
- Commitment to supporting, promoting, and building an inclusive and culturally diverse campus environment.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching toward program-wide student learning outcomes applicable to the courses they are assigned to teach.
- Participate in faculty development activities in support of best-practice based instruction.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and information.
- Possess the ability to teach in a diverse university community and help students from diverse backgrounds succeed.

- The position may be represented by AFMSU as a union position depending on duties and assignment.
