Overview

As a member of the UX team, you will work with other strategists, designers, and researchers to help craft end-to-end experiences and identify customer needs. You are a designer with a desire to solve meaningful customer problems, using design thinking to ideate and align, or creating quick experiments to validate ideas. You value well-crafted design and the role of imagination and play in building great products within a business environment. You can craft end-to-end experiences that balance user needs with business strategy to delight customers. You collaborate with users to build more effective experiences and have a solid awareness of research best practices to iteratively improve products. You welcome feedback from researchers, designers, engineers, analysts, and product managers in a cross-functional environment, and you are prepared to influence both business and product leadership. You advocate for the customer and user, driving innovation through actionable insights and improving product usability.
Key Responsibilities
- 15% - Coaching and Mentoring: Leads interview exercises, assesses cultural and team fit, aligns organization needs with skillsets, and mentors UX resources for career development.
- 45% - Delivery & Execution: Provides UX design artifacts, tests usability, leads data collection and synthesis, drives delivery in the product area, and oversees delivery of other designers.
- 40% - Planning and Strategy: Drives value of UX, communicates clearly, adapts to change, aligns design patterns and testing methods, partners with Product, Development, and stakeholders to unify experiences, and articulates a shared vision across products.

- Typically reports to the User Experience Manager

Travel Requirements
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time
Physical Requirements
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with occasional movement; lifting light articles may be required on rare occasions
Working Conditions
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- 7-9 years of UX experience in an enterprise or retail environment or a related degree
- 7-9 years of experience working with agile software development teams
- Desire to thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to initiate and self-manage complex projects
- Experience bringing together multiple efforts into a cohesive end-to-end experience
- Help with consistency and quality control across design work
- Teach / Lead / Mentor junior contributors
- Support implementing existing standards and templates (Brand Standards)
- Provide backup mentorship to Manager as necessary
- Span across multiple teams to support designers
- Provide hands-on execution of deliverables through the Product Development lifecycle
- Availability to attend Team ceremonies as backup support to UXD/SUXD and Manager
Education
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
Preferred Education
