About the Role Wise Publishing is looking for a Content Strategist to help shape how our stories perform across major U.S. news syndication platforms, including Yahoo, MSN, Apple News, and more. This role is about turning data and instinct into hits, stories that readers can’t resist clicking and sharing. Reporting to the VP of Editorial, you’ll lead ideation and editorial planning, working closely with our current Content Strategist to identify trends, refine angles, and build a consistent pipeline of engaging, high-performing content. We’re looking for a proven storyteller and strategist — someone who can spot a winning idea before it’s obvious, understands the U.S. media landscape, and knows how to coach editors to do the same. What You’ll Do Develop and lead news story ideation strategies for major U.S. syndication platforms Collaborate closely with our existing Content Strategist to analyze performance data and identify emerging trends. Craft platform-optimized headlines and story angles that maximize engagement and reach. Coach assigning editors and guide editorial planning to ensure platform alignment and editorial excellence. Use analytics and KPIs (CTR, RPM, pageviews) to inform decisions and refine strategies. Communicate performance insights and recommendations to editorial and leadership teams. Analyze complex policy, legal, and financial materials to surface story ideas that can be transformed into accessible, high-engagement content for syndication platforms. Experiment with new content formats, categories, and editorial approaches that drive growth and monetization. Participate in quarterly planning sessions to align strategy with broader business goals. Who You Are Based in the U.S., ideally within the Eastern Time Zone. 5+ years of editorial experience in digital publishing or news. Demonstrated success ideating and producing hit stories that performed strongly on syndication or news platforms. Deep understanding of Yahoo, MSN, and Apple News editorial models and audience behavior. Strong creative instincts balanced with data-driven decision-making. Experienced in leading or mentoring editors and writers. Collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Proven ability to spot viral potential in complex topics — turning policy, legal, or financial documents into compelling, high-performing stories. Bonus: Experience with monetization strategies or affiliate-driven content.
