Product Designer IV
Remote Summary:
Product designer will be joining the Wearables organization, under the Core Applications pillar. As a Product Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great product innovation to tweaking pixels right before launch. You will be expected to utilize your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will own the experience for a wide area of our product.
Responsibilities
Verticals – utilities, tools, activities that you can do across portfolios for Wearables (mapping, navigation, utilities and live organization tools like emails, reminders), building games on devices
Music and web – support production of some of this work (one vertical at a time)
Social – Instagram e.g. how comments might appear
Translating requirements into designs across different verticals
Producing end-to-end flows
Polish UI with high craft to deliver to engineering
Collab with engineering to bring consistency across portfolios
Production design – updating existing designs or producing something where sourced assets have changed
Tasks change weekly
Performance Measurement
Quality of work and feedback from the team
Must-Have Skills
8+ years of experience
Portfolio required
Expertise in Figma – produce things quickly
Visual craft must be high – high polished
Flexibility – interpret requirements in various devices and translate them to clean and simple flows
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Wearable devices; Non-standard form factors
Experience with applying design system to a variety of different target devices (iOS, Android, mixed reality, watches, TVs – ability to apply design to different things)
Strong interaction prototyping (Origami or similar tools)
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills (esp for remote folks)
High agency – someone able to take initiative, be proactive, self-management
Ability to deal with ambiguity and work with minimal supervision
Ability to learn quickly – ramp up in areas quickly and be proactive
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field required
Industry experience over education preferred
Pay range is $89 – $94 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
