Library Faculty Position
Jacksonville State University’s Houston Cole Library invites applications for a tenure track position for Assistant Professor and Cataloging and Collection Development Librarian.
Position Overview
The role is a nine‑month, tenure‑track position. Primary responsibilities include:
Cataloging materials as they are received and maintaining authority records
Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Library’s catalog
Planning and implementing policies and procedures for the Technical Services Department
Scanning reviews and selection tools to identify potential additions to the collection
Submitting orders for materials to the Acquisitions Department
Overseeing collection management and development policies, including subject assessments
Compensation
Annual salary of $50,000.00 with an anticipated start date of January 5, 2024.
Qualifications
Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program
Preferred experience in cataloging, Resource Description and Access (RDA), and OCLC’s Connexion
