We are looking for a self-motivated, passionate and resourceful Applied Science Manager to lead a strong science team and collaborate with other science and engineering leaders, product and business partners to build the best personalized customer experience for Prime Video. You will see your contributions benefit millions of Amazon.com customers worldwide. Key responsibilities Lead to develop AI solutions for various Prime Video recommendation and personalization systems using deep learning, GenAI, reinforcement learning, and optimization methods. Work closely with engineers and product managers to design, implement and launch AI solutions end-to-end. Effectively communicate technical and non-technical ideas with teammates and stakeholders. Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field. Hire and grow a science team working in this exciting video personalization domain. About the team Prime Video Recommendation Science team owns science solutions to power recommendation and personalization experiences on various devices. We work closely with engineering teams to launch our solutions in production. Qualifications Basic Qualifications PhD, or Master’s degree and 6+ years of applied research experience 4+ years of applied research experience 3+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval and Analytics Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language Strong strategic thinking, strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with large-scale online recommendation systems Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,500/year to $286,000/year. Pay is based on factors including market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
