Physical Therapist Responsibilities Performs the duties of a professional Physical Therapist for an assigned caseload with emphasis on providing comprehensive care. Upholds professional standards and promotes quality in practice. Direct Patient Care time (actual time with patients, may vary from scheduled) – includes all direct interventions and patient education that is integrated as a part of the treatment session. Indirect Patient Care (IPC) – time spent in chart review, documentation (direct patient care documentation as well as any other documentation related to patient care), scheduling, attending team or family meetings and rounds (documented as clinic time), ordering equipment, assisting other staff. Administrative tasks related to the patient care services they provide, departmental operations, or required for regulatory and organizational compliance. Includes timesheets, case presentations, staff meetings, committee meetings, and giving in‑services. Professional development and skill enhancement for self; sharing expertise and participating in the development of the physical therapy role throughout the health system and within the community. Clinical teaching for students and student clinicians. May provide academic teaching. (Alternative productivity expectations may be determined within this classification based on fluctuating needs of the department). Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation at time of employment (if not licensed, passing score on examination for licensure is needed within two months). Possession of a current/valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support CPR Certification.
