Overview
Main Objective: Provides anatomically accurate 3D medical animations for all aspects of marketing including brochures, advertisements, surgical techniques, etc. targeted for orthopedic surgeons.
Responsibilities
- Creates technically accurate medical animations using 3D models and textures. These animations will be used in Marketing and Medical Education materials targeted for orthopedic surgeons, sales reps and to a lesser extent patients. Materials include surgical techniques, product demonstrations, tradeshow clips, content for surgical videos, corporate event animations, etc., based on input of Product Management and Medical Education staff for customer education of products and surgical procedures.
- Works productively and harmoniously with other 3D animators in a team driven environment.
- Assists to create 3D models, animation and textures using computer graphics software.
- Helps to build an archive/library of digital resources for use in future animations in a logical and organized manner.
- Evaluates and recommends new methods, materials and equipment for use in medical animation, including hardware and software.
- Follows standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity outlined in both the Marketing and Medical Visualization style guides.
- Understands the structure of the review process and provides all necessary files for the marketing resource management (MRM) and digital asset management system (DAM).
Knowledge and Skills
• Regularly contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization.
• Complete knowledge of company practices and standards.
• In-depth knowledge of orthopedic anatomy, medical terminology
• Expert knowledge in 3D Studio Max, VRay, ZBrush, After Effects and Photoshop
• Maya proficiency desired
• Expert knowledge in every aspect of the animation pipeline. Attention to detail and careful 3D/2D scene organization required
Discretion/Latitude
• Works under general supervision
• Work is reviewed for consistency of style and accuracy
• May mentor lower level personnel
Education/Experience
• 8 Years experience with BS/BA Degree in Animation or Animation Related Field
