POSITION SUMMARY

We're on the hunt for a top-tier Freelance Creative Director to contribute to this mission on our Portland team. Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing visual elements and creative concepts for project deliverables.
• Creating world class retail consumer environments and experiences.
• Leading creative campaigns from concept phase through successful completion.
• Working with multidisciplinary teams to create work that exceeds client expectations.
• Working in a dynamic, fast-paced creative studio environment.
• Planning and mentoring design team to ensure career goals are accomplished.

Collaborations

• World-class lifestyle brands across diverse categories.
• Team members across job functions and agency studio locations.
• A best-in-class creative talent consisting of Environmental Designers, Technical Designers, and 3D/Visualization team based in Portland & across the country.

Experience

• Creating physical environments in 3D that create memorable consumer experiences.
• Being a team player and dealing with cross-functional disciplines.
• Developing creative, innovative, and cost-effective Creative Design strategies that meet client needs, utilizing project experience, current market trends, competitor intelligence, and strategic thinking.
• Digesting feedback and turning it into deliverables.
• Providing clear expectations to both internal production groups and fabricating partners resulting in the best possible product and follow-up to see that those expectations are met.
• Presenting your concepts clearly and concisely to both internal teams and clients.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Art, Design, Marketing or related field.
• Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred.
• 8+ years progressive creative design experience.
• 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook, Adobe & Internet applications.
• Strong understanding of effective Creative Design practices, trends, techniques, and processes across various touchpoints or mediums (e.g. packaging, in-store, online, mobile, print, direct).
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
