Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalency
  • One year of work experience in a library setting.

Preferences

  • Experience with library circulation tasks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Customer service experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs circulation activities
  • Coordinates patron registration
  • Assists with packing, unpacking and distributing the State Library's Interlibrary Loan items
  • Performs other work related duties as required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly with patrons, co-workers and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with a variety of computer applications
  • Ability to lift and process boxes of books that may weigh up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, stretch and/or twist.
  • Ability to push loaded book trucks.
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs.
