Overview

The University of Alabama School of Law seeks qualified applicants for the position of Associate Director of Public Services for the Bounds Law Library.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all law library public services initiatives and serves as a member of the library administrative team.
  • Manages and coordinates circulation and reference services.
  • Establishes, executes, and assesses library policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Provides exceptional reference services to students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Supervises staff and student workers.
  • Teaches or co-teaches legal research sessions and/or guest lectures within the law school.
  • Assists with strategic planning and budgeting related to law library programs and services.

Qualifications

  • JD, or master’s degree in library science, and four (4) years of public service library or archival experience.
