Overview

Branch Manager - Brightwood and Indian Orchard Branch Libraries, Springfield City Library. Lead the teams of the Brightwood Branch and the Indian Orchard Branch libraries. Learn more and apply by Monday, November 3, 2025 at 11:59 pm Eastern time.

Responsibilities

• Lead the teams at two libraries with the assistance of two supervisors.
• Hire and mentor staff, engage with the public, plan and implement programming, and perform administrative duties.
• Contribute to system-wide initiatives and community engagement in alignment with Library policies and objectives.
• Supervise a total team of twelve people, including a supervisor at each location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree with major course work in library administration plus completion of the American Library Association-accredited Master of Library Science.
• Five years of library experience with some experience in library administration.
• Desired: Bilingual (English and Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, Dari, Arabic, or other community language).
• The City has a residency requirement. New hires must be residents of Springfield within two years of the date of hire, and maintain city residency.

$70,778.76 - $92,040.00/year
