Job Summary/Description

KFVS12/Heartland News in Cape Girardeau, MO is looking for a Journalist to join our digital team. The ideal candidate can create engaging content across all digital platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Writing and producing content for KFVS12's website, apps, CTV platforms and social pages
  • Writing stories for various digital and social platforms
  • Generate and pitch story ideas and research as necessary
  • Direct Photojournalists and reporters to gather/produce news
  • Monitoring scanners, maintaining phone lists, keeping files/records of upcoming news events

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style required.
  • A college degree in Journalism is preferred.
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work well on your own or with a team
  • Must be able to handle a wide variety of variables, including short deadlines, and shifting schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned by news management.
