Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit The University Development Office supports the mission of UNC by raising private funding for students, faculty, programs and facilities. It provides centralized services including annual giving, application development and IT support; campaign management; donor relations; gift planning and analysis; and institutional events.

Development partners with the broader university community to secure resources that enhance academic programs, faculty research, student services, scholarships and facilities.

Position Summary The Web Developer will support OneCarolina’s digital transformation initiatives by developing, customizing, and maintaining Drupal-based web properties, including the campaign site and the internal OneCarolina Hub. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, user‑friendly, scalable websites that meet accessibility, security, and performance standards while adapting to evolving technologies.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements • Master’s degree with 1–2 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of experience, or a combination of related education and experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

Proficiency in developing and maintaining Drupal websites, including the most recent iterations.

Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.

Experience with theming, custom module development, and third‑party integrations.

Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), security best practices, and performance optimization.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

Experience working in higher education or large, decentralized organizations.

Familiarity with Acquia or other Drupal hosting platforms.

Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD workflows.

Understanding of digital marketing technologies (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
