Embedded UI & SW Engineer II - EV Cluster We are seeking an

Embedded Systems & HMI Engineer

to lead the development of software for a 2-wheeler EV cluster running on a Linux-based SoM. The role spans

Linux BSP, driver integration, CAN communication, ADAS functionalities, and HMI/UI implementation

for the cluster display.

Key Responsibilities:

Bring up and customize embedded Linux (Yocto/Android) on SoM.

Develop/integrate drivers for CAN, display, IMU, GNSS, WiFi/BT, LTE.

Implement

UI/UX for TFT display

based on Figma wireframes (Qt/QML or Android UI).

Integrate CAN bus data from VCU and display real-time vehicle info.

Implement

ADAS features

(blind spot detection, pothole detection, face recognition unlock) using onboard sensors and cameras.

Optimize performance (boot time, rendering, memory footprint).

Implement

FOTA update framework

(self + downstream to other ECUs via CAN).

Collaborate with hardware and cloud engineers for system-level integration.

Requirements Strong experience in Embedded Linux BSP (Yocto, drivers, kernel).

Proficiency in C/C++, Qt/QML (or Android UI toolkit).

Knowledge of computer vision frameworks (OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Familiarity with CAN stack and automotive protocols.

Experience with OTA frameworks (Mender, RAUC, SWUpdate).

Prior experience (at least 3 years) in automotive/IoT device development preferred.

About the Company Arbor Mobility is a 2W EV start-up based out of Bengaluru, India. We at Arbor Mobility are developing a performance two-wheeler EV motorcycle. The three Co-Founders have done their Masters in Automotive Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, and have worked for various Automotive companies in India and the USA and are now determined to create something exciting in the EV space. The company was started in November, 2022 and is now rapidly expanding. We, at Arbor Mobility are trying to answer the basic question of how to increase the adoption of EVs in India. EV usage is a paradigm shift in consumer behaviour. It requires us to think how to tackle the issues such as charging, range anxiety & safety for a consumer.
