Adjunct Instructor, Communication Design, College of Design Architecture Art and Planning

Join the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati as an adjunct instructor in Communication Design. This part‑time position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising students, and supporting the curriculum.

Essential Functions

• Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate‑level courses and seminars.
• Serve as an academic advisor for students and evaluate student coursework.
• Engage in other academic activities ancillary to or supportive of the responsibilities.
• Respond promptly to university communications and other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
• Ability to produce high‑quality creative work demonstrated through a portfolio.
• Strong foundation in graphic design fundamentals (typography, image‑making, and composition) and communication problem solving.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex material to students.
• Collaborative approach with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
