Retail Scan Associate (Newport News, VA 23601)

This is a permanent part‑time position, estimating 9–12 hours per week. Stores are selected weekly to scan barcodes on displays, aisle locations, and end caps. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and the retailer.

Responsibilities:

• Visit designated grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks.
• Use the ScanScape mobile app to scan barcodes in various locations throughout the store.
• Provide the quantity of about 45% of the products scanned.
• Report to the store within the described deadline.
• Complete display scanning for the entire store, which takes several hours each week.
• Perform Custom Projects that add 30 minutes to 2 hours of additional work on most weeks.
• Adhere to weekly deadlines and maintain high quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to remain on your feet for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand.
• Capability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be deadline‑driven and a self‑starter.
• Must have reliable Wi‑Fi access.
• Must be tech‑savvy.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
