Our team consists of a driven group of like-minded, motivated individuals who embrace their passion for advocating our artists and songwriters in the world of Sync Licensing and Music Publishing Administration.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and creatively minded Sync and Publishing Coordinator to join our small but dynamic team. If you’re passionate about music, eager to learn, and ready to dive into the world of sync licensing and music publishing, this is the role for you!

The ideal candidate will have up to 2 years of experience at a publisher, sync company, label, or music supervision company. You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your contributions are valued and there’s plenty of room to grow.

For candidates with no formal work experience, we welcome relevant internships—ideally one or two—directly related to sync, publishing, or the label side of the music industry.

This position offers a flexible mix of remote work and in-person collaboration. We’re looking for someone who is Los Angeles based.

You’ll be working in an exciting and fast-paced environment across all aspects of sync and publishing – both creative and administrative. This will include creative tasks like creating playlists in responses to briefs, creating custom samplers and newsletters of music from our catalog, social media management, as well as administrative responsibilities like metadata tagging, organizing data and registering works at PRO’s and Mechanical societies.

At Koze, Here’s What Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Creative and A&R

• Assist with pitching music to supervisors based on creative briefs
• Onboard new songwriters, artists, and bands
• Curate samplers and playlists; maintain ongoing interaction with artists, managers, and music supervisors
• Manage and maintain the DISCO catalog, including audio assets, album art, and metadata
• Track upcoming releases, new music submissions
• Onboard new music submissions into our Catalog via DISCO and other Koze platforms

Industry & Relationship Management

• Build and maintain relationships with music supervisors, coordinators, ad agencies, and other creative partners
• Research and maintain production schedules for TV shows, films, ads, and video games
• Create and design customized newsletters of featured content for industry supervisors
• Update and maintain contact and distribution databases

Publishing Administration Duties

• Assist with registrations and audits of compositions at PROs and mechanical societies
• Communicate with collection societies and clients in order to resolve rights disputes
• Track down and clean up song metadata

Marketing & Social Media

• Run and curate the sync department’s social media accounts; create and coordinate posts
• Manage and upload content to Koze’s website and other front facing sites
• Attend regular team meetings and communicate key releases and catalog updates to the team

About You:

• You have a college degree
• Proficiency & direct experience with DISCO is a plus
• You have experience curating and selecting music in response to creative briefs from ad agencies, music supervisors, or other industry professional
• You work well with small teams and demonstrate great communication skills
• Ability to take initiative and shift quickly from creative tasks to more administrative responsibilities
• You are a self-starter, self-motivated, and take responsibility/ownership of tasks
• You are highly organized and detail oriented
• You thrive in a busy environment, and can multitask and prioritize extremely well
• You demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, anticipate needs and help create efficient and effective processes
• You possess a thorough knowledge of industry standard musical terminology and language
• Knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Social Media Platforms (Instagram, FB, Twitter), and Google Docs & Spreadsheets
• Bonus points if you have experience with Airtable & are familiar with Performing Rights Societies (PROs like BMI, ASCAP etc)

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has previous industry experience in sync licensing, music supervision, or an administrative position in the entertainment Industry
• Has strong self-discipline, drive, and is highly organized and self initiating
• Possesses a thorough understanding of Sync Licensing and/or Publishing – or is hungry to learn.
• Has a passion for music in Film, Television, Sports, Video Games, Advertising, Promos & Trailers
• Enjoys discovering new music, and staying on top of the latest music and trends
• Possesses a broad knowledge of musical genres, styles, and artists, with a keen ear for spotting trends and identifying songs that fit specific sync opportunities
