Senior UX Designer – Jobs via Dice (Kforce) – Morrisville, NC.
Responsibilities
- Audit & Extend Existing Design Systems: Analyze current enterprise design systems (Atmosphere, Muse, Horizon) and define extensions tailored for HR platforms.
- Define Tokens & Components: Create and manage design tokens, variants, and component libraries in Figma mapped to ServiceNow Horizon.
- Design System Documentation: Build example‑driven guidelines explaining component usage, task‑grouping patterns, and accessibility best practices.
- Prototype Key Journeys: Design and prototype onboarding/offboarding flows across ServiceNow, Workday, and Phenom, ensuring design fidelity and technical feasibility.
- Accessibility by Design: Apply and validate WCAG 2.2 AA standards, including color contrast, ARIA labeling, keyboard navigation, and focus states.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with developers, business analysts, and IT teams to align design decisions with technical realities and platform constraints.
- Governance & Versioning: Define version control, change management, and theming approaches for sustaining the design system over time.
- Knowledge Transfer: Support enablement and training for internal designers, super users, and developers.
Requirements
- 5‑8 years of UX design experience with at least 2+ years focused on design systems or design ops within a large enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience building or extending design systems around low‑code or enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Salesforce Lightning, PowerApps, Oracle Cloud, or Workday.
- Deep familiarity with the ServiceNow Horizon Design System (or equivalent pattern libraries that support multiple environments).
- Advanced Figma expertise: tokens, variables, variants, and component documentation.
- Proven ability to create design documentation websites or design reference materials (e.g., Confluence, ZeroHeight, Storybook, Material‑style documentation).
- Accessibility proficiency (WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA) – able to design and test for compliance in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of theming, inheritance, and version control within design systems.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills to convey complex design decisions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working closely with developers and platform owners to ensure feasible, performant design execution.
- Experience collaborating in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
Nice‑to‑Have Experience
- Prior work with ServiceNow Journey module or HR portals.
- Understanding of Phenom and Workday UX constraints or HR workflow systems.
- Exposure to design governance frameworks (component contribution, release management).
- Familiarity with CSS variables, theming systems, and design token automation pipelines.
- Experience designing internal documentation or enablement websites (ZeroHeight, Figma Dev Mode, Storybook, etc.).

Salary
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. This range may be modified in the future. Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
