About 9fin
The world's largest asset class, debt, operates with the worst data. Technology has revolutionized equity markets with electronic trading, quant algos and instantaneous news. However, in debt capital markets, the picture is completely different. It still behaves like it’s in the 1980s; trillions of dollars of trades are placed over the phone, news is slow, and corporate credit information is imperfect and scattered.
Our mission is to change this. 9fin’s proprietary technology delivers fast and comprehensive financial, credit, legal & ESG analysis. Our clients are able to make faster, more informed decisions, win more business and most importantly, save time.
Our fast growing list of clients include 9 of the top 10 Investment Banks, leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Law Firms.
What you’ll work on
Drive editorial strategy, coverage areas and content for the new asset-based finance vertical, ensuring scoop-driven agenda-setting coverage.
Ensure the success of the ABF product rollout, pinpointing crucial trends, providing expertise and liaising across 9fin product and sales teams to drive the business forward.
Editing ABF content and broader 9fin journalism and credit analysis across other teams, reviewing sourcing and any legal issues, pinpointing angles and keeping 9fin coverage fresh and punchy.
Building out and managing the US ABF team, hiring the best journalists on the beat, supporting the development of less experienced journalists, helping bring out skills and capabilities.
Meeting the ABF market, developing and maintaining a top‑class source base and ensuring 9fin’s coverage in this area is best‑in‑class.

Note from the hiring manager: Asset‑based finance is an exciting new vertical to launch at 9fin, an asset class that the likes of KKR are calling a $7 trillion opportunity. It stands right at the front of the biggest trend in finance, the retreat of the banks from the lending products where they were once dominant, and it touches on everything from home lending to stadium finance to music to the circular economy, underpinning the world in which we live. This role will build on existing connections 9fin has with the ABF ecosystem, and will aim to disrupt a sleepy and complacent content and data market dominated by legacy players, with a product suited to today’s market. This role is the lynchpin of our coverage in the world’s biggest capital market and you will be at the heart of the build‑out!
9fin is an equal opportunities employer.
