The business is now seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join its Cleveland team, supporting ocean and air import clearances for a diverse portfolio of clients across automotive, industrial, and retail sectors. The Role You’ll be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and filing accurate customs entries while ensuring compliance with all CBP regulations. This is a role for someone who knows how to handle multiple entries under pressure, manage communication with clients and brokers, and take pride in accuracy and speed. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit import customs entries in accordance with CBP regulations Review documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and arrival notices Coordinate with import operations teams, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely release and delivery of shipments Classify goods using the HTSUS and determine applicable duty rates Resolve holds, examinations, and compliance issues efficiently Maintain detailed records within CargoWise or equivalent TMS What You’ll Bring Minimum 2 years of entry writing experience within a U.S. freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment Strong knowledge of HTS classification , ACE/ABI filing , and FDA/DOT/EPA procedures Experience using CargoWise or similar systems High attention to detail, strong compliance mindset, and excellent communication skills What’s On Offer $60,000–$75,000 base salary depending on experience Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) Hybrid work flexibility once fully onboarded A growth-driven environment with career progression toward senior entry or compliance roles Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Administrative Industries Freight and Package Transportation and Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and Storage #J-18808-Ljbffr
