Overview
The Technical Writer will support the development of high-quality written deliverables for
OASH , including peer-reviewed reports, public awareness materials, and policy analyses. The ideal candidate will translate complex scientific, medical, and regulatory information into accessible, accurate, and engaging documents for both professional and public audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, edit, and format
scientific reports, executive summaries, and policy analyses
based on input from subject matter experts. Support development of public-facing materials such as campaign content, web copy, and video scripts. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all deliverables, adhering to federal style guides and Section 508 accessibility standards. Provide
meeting summaries
and
technical documentation
following kickoff and ad hoc meetings. Collaborate with project managers and medical professionals to ensure alignment with program objectives. Contribute to translation of technical findings into plain language suitable for public awareness campaigns. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in
Technical Writing, Communications, Public Health, or related field . 3-5 years
of experience producing health, medical, or policy-related documents for federal agencies or healthcare organizations. Demonstrated ability to synthesize and present complex medical and regulatory topics for both expert and non-expert audiences. Experience with
peer-reviewed publication processes
and federal reporting standards. Proficiency with
MS Office Suite ,
Adobe Acrobat , and
collaboration tools
(e.g., SharePoint, Teams). Knowledge of
Section 508 compliance
and government document formatting requirements.
