Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer with mid- to high-level expertise to join our team in Carrollton, TX. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with a passion for creating efficient, code-compliant plumbing systems for residential projects across the United States.
This role involves designing and documenting plumbing systems that meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in potable water and DWV systems.
Key Responsibilities
System Design
Develop comprehensive plumbing system designs using Autodesk MEP software. Size and select appropriate drainage and supply piping in accordance with applicable plumbing codes. Perform calculations for DWV, gas, and potable water loads for residential projects nationwide. Code Compliance
Ensure all plumbing designs meet local, state, and national building codes and standards. Stay up to date with industry regulations, trends, and emerging technologies. Apply a fundamental understanding of materials and their field applications. Collaboration
Work closely with builders, engineers, and project teams to integrate plumbing systems into overall building designs using AutoCAD and clash detection processes. Coordinate with electrical, HVAC, and other disciplines to ensure seamless system integration. Technical Documentation
Prepare detailed and accurate technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software. Maintain thorough project documentation, including design calculations and equipment schedules. Project Management Support
Assist in project bidding and ensure timely completion of plumbing design deliverables. Collaborate with project managers to address design-related issues and provide technical support during construction. Review plans, specifications, and take-offs to identify scope and material requirements for estimating. Minimum Education

Create full DWV, gas, and isometric drawings Produce Bills of Materials for estimating and construction Assist in creating and maintaining AutoCAD blocks and templates Review project designs with field teams to improve accuracy and efficiency Maintain and apply knowledge of municipal plumbing codes Assist in project logging, template management, and specification updates Perform other duties related to residential design as assigned License Required
