Position Summary
We're looking for a
Travelling ISP Foreman
to lead our Inside Plant (ISP) Fiber Optic installation and splicing crews. This role combines the technical expertise of a fiber splicer with the leadership and project oversight skills of a
telecommunications foreman . You'll manage projects across various job sites, oversee installation and splicing operations, and ensure every project meets Cannon's standards for safety, quality, and performance.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise
ISP fiber installation and splicing crews on active job sites
Plan daily schedules, assign work, and track project progress
Perform and oversee
fiber splicing, termination, testing, and documentation
Interpret prints, fiber schematics, and construction drawings
Ensure all work meets
safety, quality , and customer standards
Manage materials, equipment, and manpower requirements
Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, job logs, and test records
Communicate effectively with project managers, customers, and crew members
Oversee job site setup, locates, and coordination with other utilities
Operate and direct the safe use of heavy equipment and fiber testing tools
Travel regularly to job sites across multiple states
Qualifications
Experience: 3–5 years in telecommunications, with at least 2 years as a f oreman or lead technician
Technical Skills: Proficient in fiber splicing, testing (OTDR, power meter), and certification
Knowledge of ISP cable routing, termination, and installation practices
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and splice schematics
Copper cabling experience a plus
Leadership: Strong team management and communication skills
Certifications: Telecom-related certifications preferred
Licenses: Valid driver's license with clean driving record (CDL-A preferred)
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Must meet DOT medical certification requirements
Other: Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours (days/nights)
