Police Communications Operator
Operates emergency telephones and dispatches calls to police officers via two-way radios. Monitors alarm and security systems and closed-circuit TV. Maintains radio, key and alarm logs: records call by entering data into an automated records management system. Supervisor Tammy Palmer. This position is non-supervisory. High school diploma or G.E.D., 2 years clerical or other related experience, basic computer and keyboarding skills, effective communication skills both orally and written, capability to prioritize, summarize and relay information orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions; to write legibly; to monitor multiple radio frequencies. Police/emergency communications experience, Meters/NCIC certification. The position is a Contingent II, (full-time), (non-exempt) position. Priority will be given to applicants who apply by October 29, 2025. However, the position will remain open until filled.
