Position Summary
The Guitar Center Company is seeking a highly skilled and technically adept Sr. Specialist, CRM Marketing to elevate our customer communication strategy across Guitar Center and Musician’s Friend. This role combines high-volume campaign execution with a forward-thinking approach to automation and personalization using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on experience in batch/bulk email execution, a sharp eye for scalable opportunities, and the technical fluency to evolve manual efforts into automated journeys. You’ll partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery of campaigns today, while designing smarter solutions for tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities
Build and deploy batch email and SMS campaigns, ensuring accurate setup, segmentation, creative integration, and QA across devices and platforms.
Evaluate high‑volume or recurring batch sends to identify candidates for automation, developing logic and data requirements to transition these into scalable lifecycle journeys.
Design and manage multi‑step customer experiences in Salesforce Marketing Cloud using Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and dynamic content strategies.
Leverage AMPscript, personalization logic, and real‑time CRM data to tailor content based on behavior, preferences, and lifecycle stage.
Collaborate with data and analytics teams to define audience segmentation, configure and manage data extensions, and build SQL queries for precise targeting.
Work with marketing and web teams to establish key event tracking or data collection signals that power automated triggers and journey enrollment.
Contribute to campaign automation efforts that reduce manual work, improve targeting precision, and speed up deployment timelines.
Serve as a technical mentor to more junior team members, offering guidance on personalization scripting, automation strategy, and SFMC best practices.
Troubleshoot platform‑specific issues related to personalization, deliverability, or journey performance.
Document workflows, scripting patterns, and processes to support long‑term scalability and internal knowledge sharing.
Partner with other teams to align CRM efforts with business goals.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of CRM/email marketing experience, ideally within a high-volume environment and with deep hands‑on use of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Proficiency in building and improving batch campaigns and identifying pathways to automated lifecycle communications.
Strong working knowledge of HTML/CSS and ability to troubleshoot technical or rendering issues.
Familiarity with campaign performance tracking and reporting via Adobe Analytics, Omni Analytics, or SFMC dashboards.
Passion for CRM innovation and a proactive mindset toward improving efficiency, personalization, and customer experience.
Strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to thrive in a cross‑functional environment.
