Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking experienced Technical Writers to join our Engineering Center of Excellence and support advanced aerospace and defense projects. This position offers the opportunity to create and maintain critical documentation and training materials for complex engineering systems in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment. This position is fully onsite in Owego, New York.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain:
Book plans and outlines
Maintenance manuals and procedures
Operations manuals and procedures
Support validation and verification events
Perform XML tagging and publishing
Create training materials and prepare for classroom/lab training sessions
Participate in engineering technical reviews
Document work and maintain artifacts in engineering repositories
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years of technical writing experience
5+ years of applicable domain experience
Familiarity with DO-254 and DO-178 standards
Domain expertise in:
Avionic Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design
Glass cockpit systems
Tactical communications and data links
Military aircraft navigation systems
Embedded mission computing systems
Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) and digital backbone networks
Sensor and survivability systems
Salary and Benefits
$150,000-$180,000 depending on years of experience
