Job Description Summary The Director, Marketing Strategic Sourcing, partners directly with EVPs, SVPs and C‑suite executives to shape the future of how PayPal invests, manages and innovates across its global marketing ecosystem.
As a global people manager, the Director leads a medium‑sized, geographically dispersed team, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and high performance.
The role drives the transformation of Global Sourcing and Procurement, delivering breakthrough category strategies that accelerate brand growth, operational efficiency and strategic supplier partnerships across the enterprise.
Essential Responsibilities
Execute the organization’s sourcing strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering measurable value.
Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, cost savings, and quality improvements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define material, quality and service requirements and maintain alignment with sourcing strategies.
Develop and use scorecards to measure and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of sourcing operations.
Explore new sources, methods and vendors to ensure a reliable supply of materials.
Expected Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supplier & Ecosystem Leadership
– Build deep, strategic relationships with top‑tier agencies, platforms and marketing service providers; shape partner strategies and performance frameworks for accountability and innovation.
Global Impact & Organizational Excellence
– Lead a global sourcing organization that partners seamlessly with marketing and finance leaders across all regions, driving operational excellence and enabling speed, flexibility and creativity in sourcing decisions.
Team Leadership & Development
– Inspire, coach and develop sourcing talent into strategic business partners; cultivate a high‑performance culture defined by insight, influence and impact.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
Progressive experience in Marketing Strategic Sourcing, Procurement or Agency Management with proven success influencing VP+ leaders in Marketing, Brand and Finance.
Deep expertise across Creative, Media, Digital, Martech, Research, Advertising, Sponsorships and Production categories.
Strong executive presence, financial acumen and communication skills; capable of bridging creativity, business outcomes and value creation.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Procurement certification preferred.
Experience in global organizations and proficiency with Category Management, Ariba and BI tools.
Compensation The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $137,500 to $236,500.
