Overview The Marketing Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the WCU marketing team by creating versatile brand content and supporting day‑to‑day outreach and marketing operations. This non‑exempt position focuses on producing consistent, high‑quality campaign assets across all media WCU uses to communicate with members and potential members. As a key member of the core marketing team, the Specialist assists with campaign development and implementation that support WCU’s growth and outreach to local communities.
Key Responsibilities Use the TMA (The Member Advantage™) process to meet member, employee, and credit union needs and to identify, recommend, develop, and implement WCU products and services.
Apply AID, Inc. principles to serve internal and external members and meet CU goals.
Assist the marketing team in creating the monthly and annual strategic marketing plan.
Create and maintain external vendor relationships to optimize member‑centric products.
Develop and implement concepts and ideas for attention‑catching content.
Support marketing campaigns from initial planning to final collateral production, including publications, web content, social media graphics, emails, videos, presentations, and audio spots.
Create communications that tell Wauna Credit Union’s story across all WCU channels for members and potential members.
Conceive, develop, and execute original concepts for publications, advertisements, and other print, digital, and in‑branch collateral.
Under the Head of Marketing’s direction, create layouts and designs for print and digital applications.
Develop print and digital assets, selecting photos, type, illustrations, and colors in accordance with Wauna Credit Union’s brand guidelines.
Produce video content for WCU’s print and digital media channels to build brand awareness, generate inbound traffic, and encourage product adoption.
Continuously evaluate, update, improve, and manage systems and methods to keep WCU’s brand strategy and strategic plan relevant.
Successfully graduate from required Integrity Solutions courses and apply them in the role.
Understand, demonstrate, and support WCU’s mission, vision, and core values; coach others to consistently demonstrate corporate values.
Work on multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high quality.
Apply knowledge of financial institution products, services, and operations.
Maintain an organized, professional work area and help keep the department presentable.
Stay current on best practices and trends in marketing, design, social media, and member experience.
Possess extensive knowledge of social media platforms, design platforms (including Adobe Creative Suite), and other marketing software; prefer short and long‑form video production experience.
Demonstrate excellent administrative, organizational, and project management skills.
Assist in facilitating clear internal and external communications.
Grow brand awareness and equity related to product adoption among members and potential members.
Collaborate with the marketing team to strategize, drive best practices, and conduct ROI analysis.
Show genuine interest in people and effectively handle diverse personalities.
Know applicable procedures and policy manuals and find answers to everyday situations quickly.
Familiarize with security manuals and procedures for burglary and fire, participating in drills.
Respect security restrictions that protect members, employees, partners, and reputation.
Work independently or as part of a team, treating all stakeholders with courtesy, efficiency, integrity, and professionalism; articulate effectively.
Operate PCs, learn new software, basic office machines, and complete general typing, filing, and computer input tasks.
Report to work in other branches as assigned.
Be bondable and hold a valid driver’s license and insurance.
Perform all other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
At least three years of related experience.
