About the Role & Program:

The Walt Disney Company, a global leader in entertainment and technology, is seeking an AI/Data Solutions Intern to join The Walt Disney Studios' Data Platforms Team. Walt Disney's legacy of innovative storytelling continues to inspire audiences worldwide, and our teams are driving the next wave of innovation by combining data, AI, and creativity to unlock new possibilities across our studio businesses.

As part of the Studio Data Platform organization, the AI/Data Solutions Intern will help design, develop, and prototype data-driven and AI-enabled solutions that enhance decision-making, automation, and storytelling. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with modern data and AI technologies in a collaborative, fast-paced, and creative environment.

What You Will Do:

Support the design and implementation of AI and data solutions that drive innovation across Studio business units.

Assist in developing and testing prototypes leveraging machine learning, large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic architectures.

Collaborate with data engineers and scientists to integrate structured and unstructured data sources into analytical and AI workflows.

Contribute to data validation, feature engineering, and performance evaluation of AI models and applications.

Research and document emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices in generative AI, data engineering, and analytics.

Help develop demos and proof-of-concept projects to showcase the value of AI in Studio operations and storytelling.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Foundational knowledge of data engineering, machine learning, or AI model integration.

Experience with SQL and Python or similar programming languages.

Exposure to large language models, chatbots, vector databases, and generative AI applications.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment.

Education:

Junior or Senior year preferred

Major or previous coursework in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

Be at least 18 years of age

Possess unrestricted work authorization

The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $42.00 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
