Job Overview: As the Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager in effectively managing and operating the community to enhance the property value and resident experience. Contribute to strategic initiatives, financial operations, vendor management and build positive relationships with residents. Compensation: $26 per hour FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Your Responsibilities:- Assist the General Manager in managing the business affairs of the community and ensuring compliance with governing documents and policies
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Board of Directors to establish and execute strategic initiatives for the community
- Oversee the community's financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and monitoring of expenses and revenue
- Communicate regularly with residents through newsletters, emails, and meetings
- Coordinate and supervise community maintenance activities, ensuring proper upkeep of the property, common areas, and amenities
- Support vendor management, including contract negotiations, monitoring of service quality, and compliance with terms and conditions
- Collaborate with the General Manager to address resident inquiries, concerns, and work orders ensuring a high level of resident satisfaction
- Assist in planning and organizing Board meetings, taking meeting minutes and assisting with other community events
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as community association governing documents and policies
- Track non-compliance/violation issues, send appropriate notices according to established policies
- Foster positive relationships with residents, vendors, and staff, promoting a sense of community and teamwork
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to community management
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Comfortable learning new software systems and technology tools
- Professional and polished communication style
- Kind, composed, and resilient under pressure (“battle-tested”)
- Highly organized yet flexible; able to balance multiple priorities
- Demonstrates initiative and a desire for continuous learning and growth
- Minimum of 2 years of experience at a property with 200+ units (required)
- Experience producing newsletters and typing minutes (required)
- Previous property management or administrative experience (preferred)
- Aspiration to grow into a General Manager role a plus
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time in an office environment
- Able to safely lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds
